Our mission is to provide gender-sensitive, trauma-informed care that promotes dignity, safety and empowerment. We offer specialised services including antenatal and postnatal care, breastfeeding support, psychosocial support, legal and protection information, and child‑friendly activities. Working in Athens and other refugee-hosting areas, we create safe spaces where women can access accurate information, compassionate care and community. Our impact includes improved maternal and child health, stronger emotional wellbeing, and increased resilience and self‑advocacy among some of the most vulnerable women and families in Greece.

Activity details

Volunteering Activity Description:

The Social Media Co-Coordinator supports AMURTEL’s fundraising and communications by growing and engaging our online community. The role helps plan and implement a social media strategy across multiple platforms to increase awareness of who we are and what we do, and to attract and retain donors. Activities include creating and posting daily content, responding to followers, monitoring analytics, and refining campaigns to improve reach, website traffic and donations. The volunteer also researches useful tools and influencers, helps maintain a photo library (with permissions), and works closely with the Fundraising and Communications Manager to ensure consistent, impactful messaging.

– Support fundraising by growing and engaging AMURTEL’s online community
– Create and post regular content to increase awareness of our work and services
– Interact with followers, respond to messages, and join relevant online conversations
– Monitor and report on social media performance to improve reach and donations
– Coordinate photos/media and research tools/influencers to strengthen campaigns

Qualifications the volunteer should posses:
– Strong writing skills and ability to communicate clearly and sensitively in English
– Basic knowledge/interest in social media platforms and digital marketing
– Ability to analyse simple data/metrics (e.g. post reach, engagement) and draw conclusions
– Creativity, initiative and eye for engaging visual and written content
-Reliability, good time management and ability to work independently and in a team
-Interpersonal skills: empathy, cultural sensitivity and positive attitude

Hosting Organization provides:
– Volunteer induction and ongoing guidance from the Fundraising & Communications Manager
– Access to necessary digital tools/platforms and organisational visual materials
– Certificate of participation upon completion of agreed volunteer period
– Flexible schedule with option to work remotely (where appropriate)
