D.A.R.E.

Diaspora Action for Relief & Emergency

In recent years, Greece has faced an escalating series of extreme weather events. From devastating, once-in-a-thousand-year floods to record-breaking wildfires, crisis has become the new normal.

Hotter summers, harsher winters, and the ever-present risk of earthquakes have made clear the urgent need for a rapid and coordinated response to emergencies across the country.

That’s why we have established the D.A.R.E. Fund — Diaspora Action for Relief & Emergency — a dedicated initiative to mobilize Diaspora Greeks and the global philhellene community in support of immediate disaster relief and long-term resilience building across Greece.

A dedicated reserve fund, built in advance to deliver immediate relief when disaster strikes
What is the D.A.R.E. Fund?
  • A dedicated emergency relief reserve, available the moment disaster strikes
  • Activated only in emergencies, to support people and communities on the ground
  • Driven by The Hellenic Initiative’s commitment to solidarity, compassion, and immediate action
100% of Your Support Goes to the People

THI will charge zero administrative fees on this fund.
That means:

  • No overhead
  • No salaries
  • No operational deductions

Every dollar you give goes directly to helping those affected.
All associated costs will be covered separately by THI’s Board.

Why It Matters

The D.A.R.E. Fund is not for routine programs—it’s for the moments when Greece hurts most. It’s a lifeline, ready to be deployed for shelter, food, medicine, and relief efforts through trusted local partners.

We dare to act. We dare to care.
We dare to stand with Greece.
