The Hellenic Initiative renews its support to Accelerate Greece with a grant of $15,000. “Accelerate Greece” is an acceleration program for Greek entrepreneurs, aiming to drive innovation in Greece by building the next generation of successful Greek tech startups and helping them accelerate their growth. The program will give 3 Greek startups the opportunity to travel to Orange County, California, the global capital of technological innovation, in order to participate in a week-long acceleration program that will enable them to gain insight of the international business environment.
Through workshops, breakout sessions, mentorship, networking and pitching opportunities to investors, the program equips entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to excel in their field. Additionally, the program offers them a chance to connect with some of the most significant tech investors from across the world. Accelerate Greece takes place in the Eureka building, a 41,000 square-foot creative office, coworking and event campus in Irvine, designed to offer Orange County’s startups a community, accelerate innovation and support local entrepreneurship.
The Hellenic Initiative will cover airfare and hotel accommodation costs of the 3 Greek startups participating in this year’s Accelerate Greece program: Pobuca provides CRM software house that offers turn-key solutions to brands and retailers, employing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deliverback, provides an online service, that delivers items forgotten at hotels, back to their owners and Fighthoax.com, provides fast, reliable and quality news analysis for media and businesses. It’s also worth mentioning that BioCoS, one of the 3 Greek Startups which participated in last year’s Accelerate Greece , was ranked 1st among 10 other promising companies at Eureka Fest 2018.
Corinne Mentzelopoulos, THI Board Member, stated: “I firmly believe that Greece needs ,now, more than ever a new generation of entrepreneurs. THI has been unique in supporting and empowering young talented Greeks looking to promote their businesses within and outside their country. Being a Greek-French businesswoman and the daughter of an entrepreneur, I know from first hand what it takes to become one and how difficult it is to succeed. Believing and supporting this new generation of entrepreneurs through programs like Accelerate Greece is something unique and a wonderful testament of Greeks helping Greeks”.
Michael Printzos, THI’s Program Director, stated: “The Hellenic Initiative is proud to support Accelerate Greece for a second consecutive year. Accelerate Greece is a unique initiative that promotes innovation and Greek entrepreneurship internationally. It is also special to THI because it matches one of our founding purposes, the connection and collaboration of the Greek communities across the world, since the Greek startups will, among others, meet with successful members of the Greek Diaspora.”
Peter Polydor, CEO of Ergo Capital and Founder of Accelerate Greece stated: “Accelerate Greece is a program designed to help Greek technology companies build the skills and network needed to expand their business in Greece while selling to the world. Thanks to the support of The Hellenic Initiative and our partners, this is a free program for the companies. Without it, it wouldn’t be possible for each startup of our cohort to come to California and accelerate. Oλοι μαζί, μπορούμε.”
