Originally from Illinois, she now lives in Brooklyn. Her family hails from Metsovo, a mountain town in Epirus.

development executive with over two decades of experience spanning
investment management, luxury real estate, and capital markets. He
currently serves as Strategic Growth Advisor to Tocqueville Asset
Management, where he works closely with high-net-worth individuals,

Angelo also still advises The De Niro Team at Douglas Elliman, one of
New York’s top producing luxury real estate teams, where he spent over
10 years playing a central role in more than $4 billion in closed
transactions. With a focus on tax-efficient structuring, capital
preservation, and legacy planning, he brings deep insight and
creativity to complex investment and real estate deals.

Born and raised between the DC area corridor and Athens, Greece,
Angelo draws from a culturally rich upbringing. His father’s roots
trace back to Arta in the Epirus region, while his mother’s family
hails from the Meteora province of Thessaly, with both sides of his
extended family continuing to live in Athens along with his parents
today.

After earning his B.A. in Finance from George Washington University,
Angelo began his career in financial services with Oppenheimer & Co.
and Bank of America before transitioning into real estate and
development finance. He held a development finance role at JMH
Development. He later became an integral member of The De Niro Team
with Douglas Elliman, which he expanded to the West Coast during his
tenure.

Now based on the East Coast after residing in Los Angeles for the last
four years and previously in New York City, Angelo enjoys skiing
during the winter and sailing in the Greek islands in the summer. He
remains active in his town by driving business efforts in Southern
Connecticut, by building meaningful relationships that bridge finance,
real estate, and community.

Konstantinos (Kostas) Ouranitsas has been active with The Hellenic Initiative since 2016, serving as the New York Annual Gala Volunteer Coordinator. Upon the establishment of the THI New Leaders, Kosta has taken a lead role in planning and coordinating events. He currently serves at the THI New Leaders Events & Volunteering Co-Chair. Kosta is a Manager at Deloitte in the Engagement Financial Advisor Practice, leading a multinational team to support some of the firm's largest clients. Prior to that, he worked at a private debt fund. He is from New York and received his BSBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Kosta has been an active member of the Hellenic community, serving in various roles including Chairman of the National Hellenic Student Association (NHSA) of North America, a Parish Council member of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine, and on the Greek Independence Day Parade Committees of New York and Philadelphia.

Eugenia Vandoros is a proud Chioti, who was born and grew up in London, UK. She then spent 6 years living in Boston where she got her BA in International Relations and Anthropology from Tufts University and her MA in International Business from the Fletcher School, the graduate school of Global Affairs at Tufts. She has now been living in Athens, Greece for the last 12 years where she is Country Manager for the Andreas and DImitra David Initiative, a program that provides 3 annual scholarships at the Fletcher School in Boston, MA for mid-career professionals working in the government, from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Protection. Eugenia has been involved in philanthropy and the diaspora from an early age. Being involved in one's community and giving back were important principles in her household. Her father was one of the founders of the Hellenic Center that opened up in 1994 in London UK, a center she is still very involved with. She is President of the Tufts Alumni Club of Greece and also a member and very active with Axion Hellas a Non profit Private Organization in Greece, committed to providing medical care and infrastructure support to vulnerable populations around Greece. She has been a New Leader of THI since 2019 helping primarily with the events in London and Athens and is very excited to be taking on the new role on the Executive Committee and having a greater involvement in THI. Eugenia is a foodie, an explorer and a lover of animals. At time of print she had 2 dogs, 5 cats and 2 tortoises!

Despina Anastasiou is a native New Yorker currently based in Geneva, Switzerland. She is a graduate of Colgate University, where she majored in International Relations with double minors in History and Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies. She is now pursuing a Master’s degree in International and Development Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute, specializing in mobilities, migration, and borders. Despina recently completed an internship with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Division of International Protection in Geneva. Her previous experience includes internships with the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Migration and Asylum, where she worked on projects related to international cooperation and refugee policy. With a deep interest in global migration, diaspora communities, and transnational governance, Despina hopes to contribute to more just and human-centered policy responses within the field of international affairs.

Nikolaos has extensive international experience spanning over the past eleven years in the fields of politics and migration management. Work experience in the Greek Mission to the EU in Brussels gave Nikolaos the opportunity to collaborate with various EU bodies and institutions. This was followed by a stage at the Embassy of Greece in Tokyo, Japan. After returning to Greece, Nikolaos worked as a Junior Researcher for a UN University project on migration and then moved to field operations and management. He was among the first coordinators through the International Organization for Migration (IOM-UN) to handle migration flows to Greece and later worked in the capacity building and training of the Greek authorities. He has worked with various organizations, including the Norwegian Capacity/Norwegian Refugee Council (NORCAP/NRC), the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), and the European Asylum Support Office (EASO). Theodora Tavridou is a Counsel in the Private Equity group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York City, where she has lived for the past nine years. She advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on various transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Originally from Thessaloniki, Greece, she earned her law degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds an LL.M. from Northwestern University in Chicago. She visits Greece regularly to stay close to her family and is passionate about exploring ways to give back to her home country.

Konstantinos Tzanetakos is an Associate in Citigroup’s Leveraged Finance Underwriting team in London, advising on high-profile credit transactions across Europe. Prior to Citi, he worked at Kroll, focusing on private equity and credit valuation. A proud Greek, Konstantinos is committed to supporting Greece’s economic future through diaspora-led initiatives. He holds an MSc in Finance from Warwick Business School and a BSc from the University of Piraeus. He is also a former European finswimming champion and an active volunteer in youth sports and mentorship.

Denny Venetia Vildiridou

Dr. Denny Vildiridis, a Greek national fluent in English, Greek, and German, has a distinguished career in education, museology, and cultural development/strategy. She holds a PhD in Education and Museology from the University of Oxford, an M.Res in European Culture from UCL, and a BA in Modern History from Royal Holloway University London. She is also an accredited G.I.A gemmologist and jewellery designer. Her work experience spans across various cultural institutions in Greece, including the National Theater of Northern Greece where she served as the Head of Strategy and International Development, and the Museum of Children and Toys where she holds multiple roles including Board VP and Development VP. She spearheaded the construction and operational phases of the museum, which houses Europe's largest and most significant collection of toys (the Marianna Vildiridis Collection), and was instrumental in securing substantial funding for the project.

Additionally, Dr. Vildiridis has a background in the luxury industry, having worked at Sotheby’s and Bvlgari, and runs her own jewellery business in Greece. She has also been involved in various boards and committees, such as the National Orchestra of Athens, When We Band Together, and the Thessaloniki Organising Committee for Women Act, further demonstrating her commitment to cultural and societal development. Her broad experience in strategic planning, international development, and fundraising, combined with her academic expertise and passion for cultural heritage, make The Hellenic Initiative a natural fit and passion for her.

Marianthi Vlachos is a second generation Greek American born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida, with Greek roots from Kefalonia and Rhodes. Marianthi received a bachelor’s degree in Art History from Louisiana State University and currently resides in New York City. In 2017, Marianthi founded Hellenic Aesthetic, America’s first Greek fashion retailer. Hellenic Aesthetic has created a platform for many Greek brands to have a presence in the USA (and beyond) while promoting Greek craftsmanship, travel and culture. In 2021 she took this mission a step further in opening Hellenic Aesthetic’s flagship boutique in Astoria, NYC.

Only somewhat owing to his name, he has always been interested in philosophy, history, and politics. When not in NYC, you're likely to find him enjoying good food and a good book on a beach in Greece.

Lia Wrenn is based out of Chicago, IL and thrilled to be part of the THI executive committee! Most recently, she helped organize the launch of THI Chicago. She currently works as an assistant professor at Rush Medical College and practices as an Obstetrician Gynecologist at Rush University Medical Center. She is passionate about women’s health and providing access to healthcare for underserved populations. Greece has played a pivotal role in shaping her as a person, as she looks forward to being able to give back to the country through THI. Outside of work, she is a mom and loves to travel with her family, especially to Greece.
