The Hellenic Initiative – TΗΙ announces its support, for a third consecutive year, towards the entrepreneurial educational Company Program, implemented in public and private schools around Greece, by SEN/JA Greece. The Company Program teaches high school students how to transform their business ideas from concepts to products. The winning team gets to represent Greece at the European Trade Fair organized by Junior Achievement Europe.

THI’s support has helped the program expand to a wider number of schools, within and outside the country’s main cities. The participation of 130 schools with 2.500 students and 130 mentors in this year’s cycle is indicative of the program’s successful expansion. 120 schools participated in the program’s previous cycle, with 2.300 students from schools all across Greece.

The 12th National Trade Fair of SEN/JA took place in Athens on April 17 at “The Mall Athens”, with participating schools from Central Greece, the Peloponnese, Crete, and the Aegean islands, while its counterpart in Thessaloniki will take place on April 27 at “The Mediterranean Cosmos”, with participating schools from Northern Greece and the Ionian islands.

THI’s support to the program is a demonstration of the organization’s long standing commitment towards assisting in the rejuvenation of entrepreneurship in Greece.

Michael Printzos, THI’s Program Director, stated: “THI is proud to support Junior Achievement Greece, in its efforts to promote entrepreneurship amongst the youth of our country. To instill an entrepreneurial spirit in Greece, it is vital to teach young people to think and act innovatively, always strive to improve and to exchange their views on best practices. Initiatives such as the Company Program of Junior Achievement Greece are essential towards this goal and we in The Hellenic Initiative remain firmly dedicated to support them”.

Markos Veremis, Chairman of the Board of Junior Achievement Greece added: “The Youth Entrepreneurship Association/Junior Achievement Greece is in a dynamic, upward course and The Hellenic Initiative has greatly contributed to this. Education in entrepreneurship from an early age is absolutely necessary for children in Greece and ΣΕΝ/JA Greece is the only organization working towards this goal. We are proud for our collaboration with THI and we wish for it to be strengthened even more in the future in order to realize our vision, which is for the Company Program to reach all schools in Greece.”
