End of Year Appeal

Dear Friend of THI,

When times are tough and even little things seem overwhelming, for many of us it is family that we turn to for help. Our families give us guidance and support. And for the last ten years in Greece it was the powerful family structure that provided that much needed support and safety net for so many people living on the edge. The edge of unemployment, poverty and despair.

As we approach the holiday season, and 2019 comes to a close, The Hellenic Initiative would like to thank you and ask you to continue to be part of our family.

Even though things are looking better for Greece and the economy is on the re-bound this past year continued to be difficult. Greece still has the highest unemployment in all of the Eurozone at 18%*, the highest youth unemployment at 33%, the greatest risk of people living in poverty, and is still stubbornly at the bottom of the global list for business competitiveness and investment**.

However, thanks to all of our partners and supporters, 2019 has been a successful year for THI as we have passed the $15 million mark in support for direct crisis relief and entrepreneurship initiatives! You can read about all we have accomplished with your generous donations in the attached brochure.

This holiday season, The Hellenic Initiative is raising funds to continue supporting our programs on the ground in Greece providing life-saving support to the people who are struggling. And we are doubling down on our efforts to create jobs and build a strong, sound business environment.

You can learn more about our work online at www.thehellenicinitiative.org

As you reflect on this past year, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to The Hellenic Initiative. 100% of your donation will be directed towards our programs in Greece and Cyprus.

Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of our big Greek family!

Peter J. Poulos
