On October 3, The Hellenic Initiative (THI) held its 8th Annual London Gala at The Dorchester, one of London’s premier event venues, raising a record over $400,000 to support THI’s humanitarian mission and economic development initiatives in Greece. The sold-out gala, which has become the foremost gathering of Hellenes and Philhellenes in London, featured a reception, a gourmet dinner, and a fiery performance by renowned singer Eleni Foureira.

Co-chaired by THI London Board member Constantine Logothetis, THI Board members Nikos Stathopoulos and Peter Poulos, and THI International Ambassador Princess Tatiana Blatnik, the evening celebrated two organizations committed to impactful work in Greece: the Food Bank of Greece and New Agriculture New Generation (NANG).

THI Board member Nikos Stathopoulos welcomed the 400 guests attending that evening. Princess Tatiana presented the NANG award, accepted by CEO Effie Lazaridou, who delivered a heartfelt address underscoring NANG’s contributions to Greece’s agrifood sector. THI Board member George Anderson presented the award to the Food Bank of Greece, accepted by President Panagis Vourloumis, who shared moving insights into the organization’s mission. NANG, a non-profit focused on strengthening Greece’s agrifood sector, has supported the establishment of numerous sustainable businesses in rural and remote communities. The Food Bank of Greece, founded in 1995, combats hunger and food waste, distributing over 2,000 tons of food annually to support thousands in need through its partnerships with local charities.

Founded in 2012, THI is the largest global organization of the Greek Diaspora, having raised over $35 million to date in crisis relief and economic revitalization in Greece. Through philanthropy and dedicated programs, THI empowers Greek communities, supports entrepreneurs, and creates opportunities across Greece.
